Yoko Nakajima kızıl saçlı, yalnız, mutsuz bir lise öğrencisidir. Sınıfta başarılı olduğu kadar aynı zamanda sınıf başkanıdır. Sınıftaki kimse onu ciddiye almaz. Bir gün sınıftayken yakışıklı ve uzun saçlı hoş bir adam gelir. Adı Keiki'dir ve Yoko'nun tahta geçmeden geri dönmeyeceğini ve kendisinin de Yoko'nun koruması olduğunu söyler. Yoko bu olanlara anlam veremezken, o sırada birden bire büyük bir kuş okula saldırır. Yoko tüm olanları şaşkınlık içinde izler, Keiki kuşu öldürmesi için ona bir kılıç verir, ama Yoko kılıcı kullanmak istemez. Daha sonra Keiki, hinman kullanarak Yoko'nun kılıcı kontrol etmesini sağlar. Bu olaydan sonra sınıf arkadaşları Asano ve Sugimoto ile beraber diğer dünyaya giderler.

Diğer dünyada Yoko'nun yüzü değişmiştir ve ayrıca arkadaşlarının anlamadığı, ama oranın yerlilerinin anladığı dili konuşabiliyordur. Bu dünyada diğer dünyadan gelenlere Kaikyaku denilmektedir ve her Kaikyaku'nun lanet getirdiğine inanılmaktadır. Bu yüzden kimse onları sevmez ve onları cezalandırmak için yakalarlar. Yoko ve arkadaşlarının yaşamak için kaçmaktan başka çareleri yoktur. Ayrıca buraya neden geldiklerini de öğrenmek istiyorlardır...
